I was home alone all weekend while my 4 boys were in Wisconsin hunting. They didn't get any this weekend, but they had a wonderful time with Melvin, walking in the woods and fishing from the dock. Nolan even caught a small 17" or so Muskie off the dock. The girls and I laid low for the most part on Saturday, but I did spice up their day after I got home from shopping and took them to the 'puppy park'. They know that word, so I can only say it when I intend to take them there. I don't know what they got into there, but they stunk so bad when we left that I had to give them a bath as soon as we got home. OMG, THAT is always so much work because they hate water and are so strong! But it was worth it, they smelled so good afterwards.
Lori came over on Sunday and we made some jewerly. That was one of the best parts of my weekend!
I made chicken vegtable soup with dumplings and meatballs so all my boys filled their tummys when they got home.
We have school conferences tonight for Nathan. I am really looking forward to that! I love hearing what good kids we have! Tomorrow we have Nathan's first wrestling match of the year and Nolan and Ben's conferences at TECH. The rest of the week will be packed with homework and laundry and who else knows....everyday is a new adventure!

OH Benjamin!

We took Ben into the Dr. last week because of swelling in his left calf. The Dr. ordered an MRI of his leg, drew a bunch of blood, and discovered that Ben had a ruptured Baker's Cyst behind his left knee and Lyme's disease. The Dr. said he should walk on his leg, even though it's very sore. It would help reduce the swelling.
The Lyme's disease is being treated with an antibiotic for one month. Thank God he didn't suffer as bad as Nolan did 4 years ago! So, Scott, Nolan and Ben have all had it now. Nathan and I shouldn't be far behind! I will make sure to keep on applying repelant and giving the pups their monthly tick meds too!

Scott shot a small button buck last weekend. Nathan is pictured with it. All the boys were glad that dad 'finally' got one this year. He is so busy helping them with their stands that he doesn't always have time to get into his own because it's dark. The RAGE left a quite a mark!

Scott and the boys are going deer hunting again this weekend. The girls and I are going to stay home, keep warm and get caught up on some scrapbooking, laundry, reading and cooking. We'll be anxiously waiting for them to come home!

Halloween!!

This Halloween was feeling like a last stepping stone in parenting for us. We know that it will be the last time that Nathan will trick or treat with us,
so we did something fun and different this year.

Scott and I took Daisy and Lilly trick or treating too!! Daisy went as a dinosaur and Lilly was a Hawaiian clown. We picked up some kids costumes at Savers and had a blast dressing them up. Nathan got 6 1/4 lbs of candy.

It wasn't anywhere near his 10 lbs record set last year, but we ran into friends and spent time visiting at houses along the way.
We had a great time!!! Nolan walked with us for a little bit and that was wonderful and at the same time, a real adjustment for me and Scott. Our kids are growing up. Ben wasn't even home to see the dogs dressed up. He was at a halloween party. I am sure that he loved all the pictures we took! Both Ben and Nolan had to get to bed early to get enough rest for today big game at SJU. What a great weekend!!
